What is the difference between Available Balance and Current Balance?
Your available balance is calculated based on the money “available” in your account to make payments. It is made up of the current balance minus pending debit card authorizations, electronic funds transfers and holds on funds. The available balance takes items or payment transactions that have been authorized, but not yet settled, and subtracts from the current balance.
Your current balance is calculated overnight and only includes transactions that have become final up to that point in time. It is the amount you have in your account before any pending charges are added. The current balance does not include any outstanding payment transactions (such as checks that have not yet cleared and electronic transactions that have been authorized but which are still pending).
